Long., pushing us into the Orange Zone and getting us to hold that Push MOce in the middle of our workout for one, two, three minutes, even though we’re already dripping sweat.

The Orangetheory workout is different every day, with a rotating focus on Endurance, Strength, Power, or a combination of the three. Our members love the variety. Every OT studio in the world follows the same workout template each day, but no two days are ever the same!
Making it to the “Orange Zone” means you’re working out at 84-91% of your maximum heart rate. Everyone takes it at their own speed—for some it’s power walking on an incline, while others will jog or run to get their heart rate up. When you strap into your OT heart-rate monitor, you’ll be able to see your performance in real-time on screens throughout the studio. By spending at least 12 minutes of our 60-minute workout in the Orange Zone, you’ll achieve the “Afterburn Effect,” which means you’ll keep burning calories for up to 36 hours.

There’s only one person in the world who will be able to get you out of bed that early in the morning—especially for a workout. Your favorite Orangetheory coach will be too good to miss. And he’ll be expecting you, too—so you’re not going to let him down. But it’ll work out for the best. You will love that confidence you carry through the rest of the day after you accomplish an awesome early-morning sweat session.
“Halfway through! Treads, bikes, striders: Let’s pick up that speed!”
After you’ve been a member of the OT Columbia Fit Fam for a few weeks, you’ll be in the groove of the workout and know how far you can push your own body. (Or so you think!)
Imagine it—you’re in your favorite coach’s class. You’ve already pushed your MOce into the Orange Zone and are jogging toward your next challenging-but-doable Base MOce—not expecting to be going even faster before making it to your active recovery phase. But somehow, that constant support and encouragement from your coach—combined with the energy of the group—will always make it happen. You’ll gain new personal records to show for it. Thanks to the coach’s push, you’ll find yourself shaving minutes off your mile run time. And there will be no stopping you as you get faster and stronger with every workout.

Think you can sneak 10-pounders on a bicep curl without your coach noticing? Think again. Your coach will see everything on the floor. And you’ll be glad he does—because after a month of burning at Orangetheory, you’ll be surprised at how comfortable at 20-pound dumbbell deadlift feels. And your coach will know when you can handle even more. It’ll be challenging, but you’ll always be able to overcome it, and it will feel awesome to know you pushed yourself beyond what you ever thought was possible. She won’t knock you for it, but her constant inspiration and support will help you hold yourself accountable and remind you that it’s a cheat meal, not a cheat day (and definitely not a cheat weekend!).
